From: Additive value of 18FDG-PET/CT to positive 131I whole body scan in recurrent differentiated thyroid cancer patients with potential influence on treatment strategy: single Egyptian center experience

60 year old male patient with stage III papillary thyroid cancer who underwent total thyroidectomy then he received radioactive iodine ablative dose. During follow up he was represented by elevated level of I diagnostic WBS revealed only small sized recurrent thyroid 131 and ng/ml While both neck US 60, serum Tg-FDG18 was done for proper evaluation of the condition. Therefore (arrows) sections reveal bilateral metastatic cervical LNs level II PET/CT (B) 131I diagnostic WBS shows only iodine avid residual thyroid tissue in the operative thyroid bed (arrow)
